Antonela wanted to become a VA and work remotely—she just needed to figure out how

I want to become a VA—but how?"
That was Antonela’s starting point. A skilled professional with years of experience in customer support and finance, she was good at her job—but wanted more. More freedom. More income. More life.
In October 2023, she joined our Become a VA course. What is Antonela doing today: she works remotely from anywhere (yes, including beachside cafés), earns more than ever, and even mentors other VAs. Here’s how she did it.
In October 2023, Antonela enrolled in our Become VA course, seeking a career change that offered more flexibility, higher earning potential, and the ability to work remotely. Even though she was successful in her previous roles, Antonela felt like her career was stagnating. Based in Croatia, she saw international projects as the perfect next step to grow her career.
She pictured herself working remotely from a sandy beach in Thailand, cocktail in hand. She wanted to be her own boss, set her own schedule, and make more money—all while enjoying the freedom to work from anywhere
In our Become a VA training course,
Antonela stood out
In our 'Become a Virtual Assistant' course, Antonela was a star. She never missed a deadline, always did great work, and just had that professional vibe. Basically, she crushed it!
We noticed her talent, and asked her to join our team!
Antonela Became a VA, and Remote Bob connected her with her first clients

After completing her VA training, Remote Bob introduced
her to her first paying clients
After becoming a virtual assistant, Antonela took on different projects:
She worked on a project for a Croatian real estate agency. She called property owners for Best Real Estates, offering them to advertise on the agency's website for free (they only paid sales commission when properties sold). Antonela onboarded 16 new properties in the first month.
Her second project was support for the interim CFO. She chased unpaid bills and sent invoices for financial expert Aggie.
Antonela also got a chance to work on customer support, and project management for the big London-based conference Fintech Week London. In this project, Antonela was onboarding new sponsors, and replying to attendee inquiries.
She also got hired to manage a community of UK-based angel investors. Daily, Antonela is replying to their inquiries, invoicing members, and coordinating that community.
One of her projects was to support Ride Near startup with research and LinkedIn outreach to potential investors
She handled all kinds of tasks well and became someone her clients counted on.
Antonela Became a Virtual Assistant, but there is more
In January 2025, Antonela got a promotion, and started working as a Quality Assurance Manager in Remote Bob overseeing and coordinating other VAs.
Things that used to seem out of reach? Now, they’re just another day’s work for her.
Today, Antonela enjoys full remote work with flexible hours and the freedom to choose her clients. In just 2-3 years as a VA, she’s gained more valuable experience than in a decade of traditional jobs. Now, with London-based companies and high-profile British entrepreneurs on her CV, she’ll always stand out in the job market
—if she ever decides to move on from her remote role (though why would she?).
